The Cloverdale Police Department is actively investigating a grim incident that left two residents dead in what appears to be a murder-suicide. On a welfare check prompted by neighborly concern, the bodies of Parker Briggs, 32, and Jessica Sandoval, 35, were found in their home at the intersection of Riesling and Syrah Court, as per the Cloverdale Police Department.
Neighbors, who noted the couple's troubling absence, sparked police involvement. After entering their residence, officers discovered a tragic scene. Sandoval had been shot in her bed, while Briggs succumbed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to initial assessments from the scene. The couple had ended their seven-year relationship roughly a month ago and were in the process of separating, Sandoval reportedly readying to move back to San Diego.
Results from autopsies support a murder-suicide as the likely scenario, and investigators are pursuing all leads to gain a full understanding of the tragic developments. "Our thoughts and deepest sympathies rest with the families and friends affected by this heartbreaking situation," said Chief Chris Parker, providing a somber acknowledgment of the intimate disaster unraveling in the quiet community, an expression of empathy also found in a Hoodline report.
