Collierville has introduced a new Comprehensive Plan intended to guide future development in an organized manner. The plan was presented by Community and Economic Development Director Michael Clark at a recent meeting of the Collierville Chamber of Commerce. According to the Town of Collierville, the plan outlines a long-term framework through 2050, addressing areas such as land use, transportation, utilities, and recreation.
The project includes an 18-month planning timeline and involves extensive public engagement across Collierville. According to a statement from Community and Economic Development Director Michael Clark, included in a Town of Collierville news release, the planning process will focus on gathering input based on community experiences. "We don't want a plan based on zones—we want a plan based on experiences," Clark stated. The process will incorporate focus groups, surveys, design charrettes, and other interactive methods to collect input from residents, businesses, and local organizations.
During the presentation, Clark told the Town of Collierville, "This project will define the next generation of Collierville." He noted that the plan is intended to address various components, including road networks and emergency services, within a coordinated framework rather than as separate elements.
Residents are expected to be involved in the development of the Comprehensive Plan, with the Town of Collierville encouraging public participation as part of the planning process. The initiative aims to incorporate input related to areas such as work, living, and recreation.
