April has been dedicated to the importance of protecting children against abuse, marking it as Child Abuse Prevention Month. The Collin County Criminal District Attorney's Office is taking a vocal stand on social issues, especially focusing on the young victims in our society. According to a recent social media post from their office, child abuse is acknowledged not as a distant reality but as a present and local threat that demands a consistent fight for justice.
Their Crimes Against Children Division is actively engaged to pursue those who harm children. The District Attorney, Greg Willis, has made it clear that protecting children is a top priority for his office, noting, "Every day, our Crimes Against Children Division fight for kids who can't fight for themselves." In a display of commitment, the office calls for community awareness and action during this month and throughout the year, as per the Collin County DA's Office.
The office unequivocally reminds the public that Collin County does not tolerate child abuse and that prosecution awaits those guilty of such crimes. They emphasize the collective responsibility to ensure child safety and support the justice system's protective role. Furthermore, they provide resources to report child abuse, directing individuals to the Texas Abuse Hotline and the local Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County.
