To mark the anniversary of the 1968 Fair Housing Act, the City of Dallas is partnering with educational events to raise awareness about housing discrimination and resident rights. Throughout April, officially recognized as Fair Housing Month, the City's Office of Equity and Inclusion—Fair Housing Division will promote this initiative.

The city has lined up a string of "Fair Housing Roadshow" events, where housing staff will be present to disseminate information and field fair housing complaints. Key figures, such as Mayor Pro Tem Tennell Atkins and Councilmembers Jamie Resendiz, Jesse Moreno, and Gay Donnell Willis, are slated to attend and engage directly with community members. These efforts underscore a reinforced commitment by city officials to not only spread knowledge but also address grievances and connect residents with key resources.

As stated by the City of Dallas's official announcement, the Roadshow will kick off on April 8. Each Tuesday of the month, the event will circulate through various Dallas districts. The schedule currently stands as follows: April 8 at the District 8 Resource Center / Highland Hills WIC Office, District 8; April 17 at the Pleasant Grove Branch Library, District 5; April 24 at the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library, District 2; and April 28 at the Vickery Meadow Youth Development Foundation Center, District 13, with all events running from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
