
The Deland Police Department is seeking public aid in the aftermath of a shooting incident that occurred early Sunday morning on South Sans Souci Avenue. Per reports from WFTV, emergency responders discovered an individual with a gunshot wound to the right thigh at the scene. The suspect, a young Black male, fled on foot and has since eluded capture despite an extensive search, including aerial support from Air One.
Witnesses have described a confusing verbal altercation preceding the shooting, according to statements reported by FOX 35 Orlando. The shooting was reported to authorities around 12:06 a.m., but the suspect had managed to disappear before law enforcement arrived quickly. The search is ongoing, with the Police Department urging anyone with potential information to immediately come forward to assist in the investigation.
The public's help is crucial, as reiterated by the Deland Police Department. They encourage community members to stay alert and are accepting anonymous tips online. According to a post by CrimeWatchFL, individuals providing tips that lead to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 through Central Florida CrimeLine.
