The Denton Police Department is currently investigating a shooting incident that claimed the life of a man early yesterday morning, as unfolding details emerge about the confrontation leading up to the tragic event.
Officials arrived at the scene at approximately 6:04 a.m., after receiving reports of gunfire at an apartment complex located on the 900 block of Avenue A, where two men reportedly engaged in a dispute that escalated to violence, and the involvement of a firearm ultimately resulted in an individual's fatality. Despite the efforts of officers and medical personnel who attempted life-saving measures, they pronounced the man deceased upon his arrival at the hospital.
According to a statement from the Denton Police Department, witnesses told authorities that the shooting occurred following a physical altercation between the victim and the shooter, with the latter cooperating with investigators probing the incident. As of now, no arrests related to the shooting have been made, as reported by the City of Denton.
