The Denton Police Department is turning to the community for clues in a hit-and-run crash that left one woman with life-threatening injuries and another with minor injuries. According to the City of Denton news release, the incident occurred last Saturday morning in the 2300 block of Carril Al Lago Drive, where two women were struck by what is believed to be a dark 2014-2015 Kia Optima.
Officers rushed to the scene at 2:12 a.m. after witnesses reported a dark-colored sedan hitting the pedestrians before fleeing; it was last seen driving north on N. Bonnie Brae Street. The suspect vehicle has damage, with a missing or damaged front grill and likely headlight damage from the collision. Both victims received urgent medical attention following the event, with one currently struggling for her life while the other is recovering from less severe wounds.
The Denton Police Department is tirelessly working on the case and has requested that individuals with insights regarding the suspect vehicle contact Lt. Michael Rose via email or call 940-349-8181 to speak directly with a Traffic Unit officer.
