A Detroit man has been arrested and is facing multiple felony charges after attempting to meet young girls for sexual activity in Toledo. Brett Tooman, 34, was apprehended Saturday when he traveled to Toledo from Detroit with the intent to sexually abuse minors, according to authorities. He was under the impression he was communicating with two prepubescent girls, including a 7-year-old and a 6-month-old, via a messaging app, but, instead, he was exchanging messages with an undercover police officer, as reported by 13abc.

Tooman was charged with importuning, a third-degree felony; compelling acceptance of objectionable material, and possession of controlled substance, each a fifth-degree felony, per court documents. Initial charges also included attempt to commit an offense which was dropped later upon the recommendation of the prosecutor. Arriving at the scene, following the arranged meeting, officers placed Tooman under arrest where he allegedly arrived believing he would be meeting the minors, CBS News Detroit stated.

During the investigation, Tooman allegedly sent videos to the undercover officer that depicted "prepubescent children being sexually assaulted by an adult male," a disturbing revelation that has been highlighted in the charges against him. This evidential exchange was documented in the court records, shedding light on the vile nature of his intentions. When Tooman arrived at the predetermined location in Toledo, police officers, who had been vigilantly tracking his movements, promptly arrested him, as disclosed by Toledo's WTOL.

Tooman's bail was set at $200,000 during his appearance at Toledo Municipal Court today. In addition to finding cocaine on Tooman during his arrest, police affidavits indicate that Tooman admitted the drugs were his. The case against Tooman has been continued with a future court date set for April 7.
