A startling incident unfolded in White Settlement on Monday evening as a suspect, later determined by police to be under the influence of illicit drugs, careened into two apartment buildings, resulting in serious injury to one person and minor harm to another. According to a social media post by the White Settlement Police Department, the chaos began around 5:11 p.m. when the suspect backed at a high rate of speed into the Foxfire Lane Apartments, causing significant structural damage and leaving a woman with serious injuries.
The impact was so forceful that it also knocked out power to the building, and as a result, the woman was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Subsequently, the individual proceeded forward with unchanged haste and struck a second building, injuring a man who was treated at the scene for his less serious injuries. Meanwhile, the suspect was medically cleared at a hospital and booked into the WSPD Jail.
The White Settlement Fire Department, Fire Marshal, MEDSTAR Ambulance Service, City of White Settlement Code Enforcement, and ONCOR all responded to the scene, coordinating efforts to manage the aftermath of the collisions. The efficiency of the response was underscored by the community's WEST COMM 911 Dispatch Center, Patrol Division, and Criminal Investigations Unit, which played instrumental roles in resolving the situation and conducting the ongoing investigation.
