The City of Dublin is gearing up for a classic rock takeover this Independence Day, with 38 Special and KANSAS set to co-headline their July 4 celebration at Dublin Coffman Stadium. According to the city's official announcement, attendees can expect a day jam-packed with community events ranging from parades to music, and of course, the grand finale fireworks display.
Celebrating a milestone, 38 Special will mark their 50-Year Legacy Tour as part of the festivities. In a statement obtained by the City of Dublin, they shared their enthusiasm: "The magic is still alive." A testament to their enduring appeal, having sold over 20 million albums with hits that continue to resonate with fans, such as “Hold On Loosely” and “Caught Up In You.”
Sharing the stage are rock veterans KANSAS, familiar to many for their timeless track "Dust in the Wind" among other hits. The band, which debuted in 1974, shows no signs of slowing down, boasting a robust back catalog and having sold over 30 million albums worldwide. "Our band is stronger than ever," KANSAS mentioned in the lead-up to the Independence Day event, per the City of Dublin.
The day begins with a fishing derby, where children alongside parents can enjoy casting lines, followed by a parade that the City of Dublin describes as a "family fun" opportunity. Bringing the evening to a crescendo, the audiences will be treated to the much-anticipated performances of 38 Special and KANSAS before being capped off with a fireworks show that promises to light up the city skies.
