On a cold Sunday afternoon in Duluth, a burglary spree was brought to a halt thanks to the swift actions of local law enforcement. According to the City of Duluth, at around 4 p.m. on Sunday, Duluth Police were dispatched to West 6th Street following a burglary report. As officers arrived, they trailed fresh footprints in the snow to a neighboring home on North Central Avenue, where an individual was discovered unlawfully within the premises.
This individual, identified as 37-year-old William Paige, was non-compliant when officers gave commands. The sequence of events that followed included setting up a perimeter, breaching the door, and deploying a drone for surveillance, as detailed by the City of Duluth.
Paige's resistance continued even after a Taser was employed, albeit to no effect, eventually leading to the deployment of K9 Vili, which resulted in Paige's detention, as per the City of Duluth. Found on Paige were items reportedly stolen from both implicated residences.
Paige now faces several charges, including 2nd Degree Burglary, 1st Degree Burglary, and Felony Obstructing, as confirmed by the City of Duluth. Paige has been lodged at the St. Louis County Jail, pending the judicial process that awaits.
