
Deputy Fair, who was injured while assisting crash victims on Highway 104, has been discharged from the hospital and is now at home recovering.
According to the Dyer County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, the incident occurred when he was struck by a vehicle during the response to a traffic accident. Emergency personnel quickly arrived at the scene and airlifted him to Regional One Health in Memphis, where he received critical care. He was released from the hospital less than a day later.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol has arrested 63-year-old George Dinwiddie on charges of DUI and driving on a suspended license in connection with the accident. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be added.
