
A 47-year-old Eastpointe woman was taken into custody yesterday following a deadly stabbing incident in Redford Township. According to CBS News Detroit, the Redford Township Police Department received a report of the stabbing around 12:15 a.m. in the area of Cathedral Street and Wormer Street. The victim, a 52-year-old Redford man, was discovered with a single stab wound to his chest and later died in the hospital.
The search for the suspect led authorities to execute a warrant at the woman's Eastpointe residence later that day, where she was taken into custody without incident. ClickOnDetroit reports that victim and the suspect were known to have had a prior domestic relationship. Police have indicated that there is no ongoing threat to the public as a result of the altercation.
As the investigation continues, the Redford Township Police Department is working with the Wayne County Prosecutor’s office to seek criminal charges.
