An incident involving child endangerment has recently unfolded in El Paso, TX, leading to the arrest of two adults. According to El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte, deputies initially attended to a domestic violence call at a residence on Southwood. Brandon Garibay, 24, was initially arrested for assault and subsequently released on bond. The presence of children at the site prompted deputies to involve Child Protective Services (CPS).
After his release, another visit to Garibay's residence uncovered further alarming evidence. Sentinel children endured conditions that no young soul should ever have to, and tested positive for multiple illicit drugs, an egregious detail that tightened the gravity of the case. Redirected to the Northwest Patrol Station's Criminal Investigation Unit, alongside CPS, a probing investigation ensued.
The collaborative inquiry resulted in the issuance of arrest warrants for two suspects. On April 18, Garibay was apprehended once more, now facing charges of Abandoning or Endangering a Child, carrying a $50,000 bond, as detailed by the Sheriff's post. Following suit, on April 19, Clarissa Villalobos, 21, was taken into custody on identical charges, also with the bail amount set at $50,000.
Ensuring the wellbeing of the children involved, the safety plan has been set in motion by CPS. Protecting the guardianship and care for those minors caught in the maelstrom of adult failure, an intervention plan has been purportedly implemented to secure their immediate future. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office has not disclosed further details regarding the safety plan. However, the post from Sheriff Ugarte confirms that relevant actions were taken to safeguard the affected children.
