
Early Tuesday morning, tragedy struck in Prince George's County when an elderly pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle. The victim, identified as 74-year-old Norma Mae Doswell of Bladensburg, was pronounced dead at the scene, as reported by FOX 5 DC. The incident occurred around 6 a.m. near 55th Avenue and Landover Road.
According to WUSA9, the driver involved in the crash cooperated with authorities and remained at the crash site until police arrived. Prince George's County Police are leading an investigation to uncover the cause of the tragic event; authorities have not yet revealed any findings.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, several roads were closed, causing substantial delays. All westbound lanes of Annapolis Road were closed off at Landover Road, with diversions in place affecting the morning rush.
