The community of Lebanon, Tennessee, can now breathe a sigh of relief as the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has canceled the Endangered Child Alert issued for 10-year-old Jeremiah Opio, confirming that the boy has been found safe. The young boy's disappearance sparked immediate concern after he was reported missing from Lebanon yesterday.
According to WSMV, Jeremiah Opio was last seen riding a blue and purple-colored bicycle at around 7 p.m. in the Five Oaks Court neighborhood prior to his disappearance. Lebanon Police Department and TBI swiftly took to action, circulating his description and urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in the search. He is was listed as 4′11″ and weighed around 110 pounds, last seen wearing green pajama pants, a green shirt, and a green jacket.
Early Wednesday morning, details emerged that Jeremiah was located and is now safe. The WKRN report did not provide additional information regarding the circumstances of his discovery, focusing on the much-welcomed outcome that the boy had been found.
Both the Lebanon community and law enforcement had been on high alert since the initial report of Jeremiah's disappearance. In efforts to locate him, Lebanon PD had reached out to the public for assistance, emphasizing the urgency given Jeremiah's young age and the hours which had passed since he had last been seen. An alert from FOX17 confirmed that the situation had reached a resolution with the boy's safe return, highlighting the effectiveness of community engagement in such critical times.
