A routine traffic stop in Fallbrook turned into an arrest when deputies discovered a loaded gun and illegal narcotics inside a vehicle. The incident occurred yesterday, wherein around 2:00 PM, the Fallbrook Sheriff's Substation's Crime Suppression Team initiated a stop for a traffic violation on the 1100 block of South Vine Street, as per the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
Upon pulling over, two passengers dashed from the car and fled down an alley, with their paths eventually taking them through a busy parking lot and across Main Street. In the chaos of the chase, one deputy had to abandon the pursuit as the suspects split up, with one runner narrowly escaping collision with an oncoming car.
While the passengers remain at large, the driver, identified as Michael Robledo (DOB 09/10/1980), stayed at the scene and was subsequently found by the deputies to have not only a loaded firearm but also illegal narcotics. The items discovered in the car included drug paraphernalia and open containers of alcohol.
Robledo, a convicted felon, now faces charges for possessing a firearm and multiple narcotics-related offenses. He was taken into custody and later booked into the Vista Detention Facility, where deputies were grappling with the ongoing issue of illegal firearms and drug trafficking in the community.
