A man is dead and another has been arrested after San Diego County Sheriff's deputies discovered two injured men at a property in Santee on Monday afternoon. Deputies responded to the 10800 block of Grand Fork Drive around 2:10 p.m. following a report of an assault with a deadly weapon, and one of the men was pronounced dead roughly 20 minutes later.
According to goldrushcam.com, deputies from the Santee Sheriff's Station arrived at the residence at approximately 2:10 p.m. on Sept. 14 and located an adult male suffering from traumatic injuries. That man was pronounced deceased at the scene at about 2:30 p.m. A separate report from sdslackers.com placed the initial call closer to 2:08 p.m. and described it as an assault involving a knife, a detail that differs from the deadly-weapon assault language used in other accounts of the timing and nature of the call.
A second adult male was also found injured on the property. Per the same account from goldrushcam.com, he was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, then arrested and taken in for questioning by investigators. As of Tuesday, his name had not been released, according to Patch, which also confirmed the arrest.

Despite the unanswered questions, authorities described the incident as isolated, saying it poses no ongoing danger to the surrounding Santee neighborhood.
