An unfortunate incident unfolded on East Flamingo Road yesterday, where a collision between an electric scooter and a public transit bus resulted in a fatality. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that the crash took place west of Pecos-McLeod Interconnect at approximately 11:50 a.m. According to the police, the e-scooter was operating in a marked crosswalk when it entered into the path of the oncoming 2022 New Flyer Transit Bus, which led to a severe collision.

Upon the scene, traveling in the bus lane, was the bus in question when the electric scooter entered its travel path, not long after both had passed the intersection. The impact caused the e-scooter's rider to fall beneath the bus, which managed to come to a controlled stop immediately after. Despite the prompt response of the Emergency Medical Services, the rider of the electric scooter, a 32-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene after telemetry by a Sunrise Hospital Trauma Doctor.

The LVMPD has disclosed that this marks the 44th traffic-related death within their jurisdiction for the year 2025. As of now, the ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Collision Investigation Section of the department. Miroslava Amaya-Moreno, the 51-year-old bus driver involved in the accident, remained at the scene and was found to be free of impairment signs. The deceased's identity has not been released pending next-of-kin notification.
