A tragic incident unfolded in Lawrence County, where a woman lost her life, and a man was left hospitalized following a four-vehicle crash. The collision occurred yesterday afternoon along Route 422 and Proch Lane near Slippery Rock Township, as reported by WPXI.
Details provided by the Slippery Rock Township Fire Chief Charles Peak indicated that the accident caused a chain reaction between the vehicles, one of which flipped and landed on its roof. The consequences of the crash proved fatal for a woman trapped inside the overturned car, who was declared dead at the scene. At the same time, a man also in the vehicle was rushed to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital in Ohio, as WTAE corroborated.
In the aftermath of the accident, Route 422 was closed to traffic as emergency services and law enforcement addressed the scene. Fortunately, others caught up in the crash sustained only minor injuries or none. After several hours, the thoroughfare was cleared and opened again to the public.
