A woman was shot by an FBI agent around 5:30 p.m. near Milan Drive and East Anderson Road, in the parking lot of Del Papa Food Store. The FBI said the agent was conducting authorized law enforcement activity when the woman approached him with a machete, leading to the shooting. The agent was not injured. The woman was taken to a local hospital, and her condition is not known. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the woman with a machete before the shooting, as reported by Click2Houston.
At approximately 6 p.m., Houston Police responded to a shooting at a convenience store on Milan Drive. About an hour later, FBI Houston confirmed its presence in the area. Sources told ABC13 that an FBI agent was assisting with a check for unaccompanied undocumented children when a woman approached him with a machete, and she was shot. Her injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.
The FBI's Inspection Division will conduct "an independent and objective investigation of the incident," according to the bureau's policies. "FBI Houston is on location in the 13000 block of Milan Drive in south Houston responding to an agent-involved shooting," the FBI said in a statement. "The scene is currently being processed by the FBI’s Evidence Response Team who will be on-site for several hours," as obtained by Click2Houston. The FBI has not released any further details to maintain the integrity of the investigation.
