
Two individuals, including a firefighter, sustained injuries following a large blaze that ravaged a porta-potty manufacturing facility in Queens last night. The fire, which started around 7 p.m. at the business located on Cross Bay Boulevard in Broad Channel, required the response of more than 100 firefighters and EMS personnel, as reported by ABC7NY. The extent of the fire led to it being escalated to a two-alarm event.
Firefighters worked swiftly to get the fire under control by 8 p.m., while the cause of the blaze is still being looked into. Citizen App video showed dark smoke billowing into the sky, with emergency vehicles converging quickly on the scene, as described by PIX11.The incident occurred at 3-04 Cross Bay Blvd., the location of CALLAHEAD, a well-known company in the porta-potty industry.
The cause and origin of the fire remain unclear, and officials from the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) are examining the debris for clues. The investigation into the fire's cause is ongoing.
