
Flock Safety, a company specializing in safety technology, is cementing its ties to Georgia with the opening of a new 97,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Smyrna, a move announced by Governor Brian P. Kemp that aims to boost local employment and undergird the community's safety measures. According to official statements by the Office of the Governor, the expansion is expected to generate 210 jobs and includes a $10 million investment, with the added promise of enhancing public safety through advanced technology.
The new jobs coming over the next three years will encompass roles in advanced manufacturing and aviation, an industry where Georgia has been a national leader, this manufacturing facility marks a significant step for the company which was founded in Georgia in 2017 and has since grown to support over 250 jobs within the state, not to mention its substantial partnership with over 300 law enforcement agencies and 100 businesses in Georgia that are using its technology to combat crime. Smyrna Mayor Derek Norton and Cobb County Chairwoman Lisa Cupid both welcomed Flock Safety's decision, expressing confidence in the city's conducive business climate and the hefty impact the company's Drone as First Responder technology is anticipated to have on emergency response protocols.
In acknowledgment of Flock Safety's commitment to innovation within the aerial safety sector, Katie Kirkpatrick, CEO of the Metro Atlanta Chamber, commended the company's steady growth and allegiance to the Georgia business community, noting its reliance on the region’s talent and favorable business environment. These sentiments were echoed by GDEcD Commissioner Pat Wilson, who highlighted the state's prowess in aerospace product innovation and manufacturing as Georgia's foremost export sector, garlanding the state's educational investments and collaborative, business-friendly approaches to success.
