
A suspect is behind bars in Fort Collins after police arrested him for allegedly trafficking a minor for sexual purposes, among other charges. Fort Collins Police Department (FCPS) confirmed to local news outlets that following a tip from the Larimer County Department of Human Services on March 6, authorities launched an investigation into John R. Fischer, born July 8, 1974, who is accused of providing alcohol and drugs to minors and engaging in sexual acts with at least one of them, according to FCPS.
The FCPS said their investigation, which began in March, uncovered that Fischer may have been involved in these activities for around a month, giving minors alcohol, methamphetamine, and cocaine, exchanging them for cash and clothing. On April 2, Fischer was taken into custody by detectives. He has since been booked into Larimer County Jail, facing multiple charges, including three counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor and one count of Human Trafficking of a Minor for Sexual Servitude.
Further charges were added to Fischer's sheet on April 4, as reported by FCPS, including Distribution of a Controlled Substance to a Minor, Schedule II (two counts), Sexual Assault (two counts), and Pandering of a Child (one count), "It is vital we protect those most vulnerable in our society and ensure they can thrive in our community without fear of abuse or exploitation," said Assistant Chief Frank Barrett of the FCPS Criminal Investigations Division, as per FCPS.
