As the end of the school year inches closer, parents in Fort Worth may be scrambling to find summer activities for their kids. Fortunately, the City of Fort Worth is stepping up again with Camp Fort Worth, offering a summer chock-full of activities for children aged 5-12. Described as a dynamic blend of fun and learning, Camp Fort Worth aims to fill the summer break with newfound skills and lasting friendships at various local community centers. It's not just about playtime—the camp incorporates a serious commitment to literacy, including 45 minutes of daily, research-based reading curriculum delivered by trained literacy support experts.
According to a statement detailed by the City of Fort Worth, a current community center membership card is required to register for the camp, which will take place from June 9 through August 1, Mondays through Fridays, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The registration cost is $65 per week, including a camp T-shirt, but it does not cover field trip expenses. Moreover, those who fully pay for the eight weeks by May 31 are eligible to receive a free week of camp.
However, cost should not deter interested parties, as the City has underscored the availability of various discounts and scholarships. These include a scholarship fee set at $35 per week, a multi-child discount that shaves $5 off, coming to $60 per week, and an employee discount matching the multi-child rate. In addition to these offers, all residents 17 and under benefit from free annual membership at all City community centers.
