The Houston Police Department has reported the arrest of a fourth individual in connection to a fatal shooting at an apartment complex on Leawood Boulevard. The suspect, 34-year-old Cedric Albert Lewis, is being charged with murder, according to a news release from the City of Houston. This latest development unfolds more than a month after the incident, which occurred around 1:20 p.m. on February 19, where Terry Meza Jr., also 34, was found shot and later succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation led by HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Burrow and R. Watson initially identified multiple suspects. Previous arrests include Ubong Esiere and Tracy Burleson, both charged with murder, and Mackenly Nohemy Palomo Medina, who faces burglary charges. Lewis was formally charged on Wednesday and arrested the following day by the HPD Southwest Division’s Crime Suppression Team. The police have been actively locating each suspect to proceed with the case.
The three other suspects are facing legal charges, with Esiere and Burleson charged with murder in the 486th and 179th State District Courts, respectively. Palomo Medina is charged with burglary in the 232nd State District Court. All suspects, including Lewis, are awaiting their court appearances, and the details of their involvement in the incident are still under investigation. Additional updates on the case will be provided as it progresses through the court system.
