Milton Fire CARES is offering residents a budget-friendly way to check their health with free wellness clinics, led by Derek Hofmann, a firefighter, paramedic, and registered nurse. As warmer weather approaches, residents can take advantage of a range of no-cost services, including electrocardiograms (EKGs), glucose tests, and blood pressure screenings, all designed to help them stay on top of their health.
These Milton Fire CARES wellness clinics are a walk-in affair, held at convenient local spots. According to an announcement by the City of Milton, the clinics will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on an array of dates through spring and summer. The next clinic takes place today at the Community Place, next to City Hall on Heritage Walk. Those unable to attend can catch future sessions, which will run regularly through July 22.
Milton Fire CARES isn't just stopping at afternoons of vital sign checks. It extends its reach by offering a gamut of other valuable services, from an M410 Advanced Life Support unit to in-home visits and classes on CPR, AEDs, "Stop the Bleed," and more. The mission, as reported by Milton's website, is proactive: to enrich lives with preventive medicine, helping citizens avoid more serious medical interventions down the line.
