Timothy Batts, 38, a key suspect in what authorities call Nashville’s largest methamphetamine enforcement operation, was arrested Tuesday after a brief pursuit through Madison. According to the Nashville Government website, Batts was taken into custody without further incident after police spiked his tires on the Ellington Parkway on-ramp from Cleveland Street.
Batts, who had been evading charges linked to a massive drug conspiracy, attempted to flee when detectives spotted him leaving an apartment complex. Officers waited for a safe opportunity to stop him, leading to the successful tire-deflation maneuver that ended the chase.
Batts is one of several individuals accused in a large-scale drug trafficking ring responsible for distributing meth and fentanyl throughout the region. Authorities say the investigation began in late 2022 and uncovered the use of borrowed local addresses to receive and move drugs. Between November 2022 and November 2024, law enforcement intercepted 800 pounds of meth and 24 pounds of fentanyl.
Following his arrest, Batts was booked with a bond set at $150,000. His case is now awaiting further legal proceedings as officials continue to dismantle the extensive drug operation.
