
A Gaston County woman has been arrested and charged with severe crimes after allegedly setting a house on fire with a person inside. The incident, which took place on Sunday afternoon near Bessemer City, led to Brittany Nicole Mims Eller being apprehended and charged with first-degree arson and attempted first-degree murder, as reported by WBTV.
Authorities responded to a call at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Jim Clark Drive to find the residence ablaze. Following an investigation, which Gaston County Police conducted alongside the Gaston County Fire Marshal's Office, Eller was identified and charged. She currently is being held with a bond set at $500,000, as WCNC confirms.
While the details of the motivation behind Eller's alleged actions remain unclear, reports from WCCB Charlotte indicate that there has been no information released regarding the person who was inside the house. Additionally, the authorities have not revealed why Eller might have attempted to harm them.
