
In Jasper, GA, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), in coordination with the Jasper Police Department, has launched an investigation into suspected human trafficking activities, having rescued a 14-year-old girl. The minor, reported as a runaway from Pennsylvania since January, was found and is now receiving medical treatment and further support, Georgia Bureau of Investigation reported.
The collaboration came after a request from Jasper Police to assist in the case. The teenage girl, whose current condition has not been disclosed, will be returned to Pennsylvania. As part of their outreach, the GBI also highlighted various avenues through which the public can anonymously submit tips. This includes a dedicated tip line at 1-800-597-TIPS(8477), an online submission form, and the 'See Something, Send Something' mobile application. The importance of reporting any suspicions or knowledge of human trafficking to Georgia’s statewide hotline, 1-866-ENDHTGA, is emphasized, where responses to such reports are managed around the clock.
