When deputies approached the vehicle and attempted to interact, the woman behind the wheel began firing at them, striking one deputy.

In the ensuing exchange of gunfire, deputies shot the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene while no information regarding her identity has been released pending notification of next of kin. The injured deputy was transported to a local hospital; fortunately, the injury sustained is not considered life-threatening.
