Clark County Commissioners April Becker and Marilyn Kirkpatrick are bringing back the beloved Great Northwest Country Fest, in partnership with 107.9 Coyote Country, on May 10. This gathering will be held at the Lone Mountain Equestrian Park, 4445 N. Jensen St., nicely tucked off West Lone Mountain Road and the Clark County 215 Beltway. If you're a fan of boot-tapping tunes, and down-home country vibes, this one's for you – and it's free, with the added bonus of free BBQ food, while supplies last.
The festival, slated from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., promises a range of activities suitable for all ages, including live country music, which is sure to be the heart and soul of the event. The lineup also boasts a farmer's market to peruse, a petting zoo for the young ones, or the young at heart, a rock wall for climbing enthusiasts, and barrel racing, among other attractions. Commissioner Becker, whose District C encompasses the park, extolled Lone Mountain Equestrian Park as a "jewel located in the northwest Las Vegas Valley," urging "families, kids and country music lovers of all ages to join us for this fun event," according to a Clark County news release.
Commissioner Kirkpatrick echoed that sentiment, highlighting the festival's broad appeal and its celebration of the rural way of life. "This is a very popular event that has something for everyone to enjoy," she said, praising it for the "great food and music, and it celebrates the rural lifestyle that’s alive and well throughout Clark County." Her District B includes parts of the northwest valley where the event is a mainstay.
