Hamilton High School junior Owen Briggs died in a car crash on Tuesday afternoon. According to WISN, the vehicle left the roadway, collided with a tree near Lannon and Lisbon Roads in Menomonee Falls, and caught fire. Friends and classmates created a memorial at the crash site. “I kind of just broke down. Like, words couldn’t explain,” said John Arnold, a football teammate. Briggs was also a member of the track team.
The Hamilton School District confirmed the passing of Briggs. The superintendent sent a letter to parents on Wednesday identifying the victim and the circumstances, as reported by TMJ4. The district is providing support for students and staff.
