Deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Office found themselves engaging with a belligerent driver during a routine traffic stop in Harris County—drama ensued when the man, later identified as Eric Sparks, refused to comply with a simple request. On the evening of April 22, Sparks' conversation with law enforcement quickly escalated after he was pulled over for an expired registration on Aldine Westfield Road and opted out of sharing his identity, as detailed in a statement released on the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 official Facebook page.
What started as a routine traffic stop turned serious when Sparks refused to follow deputies' commands. This gave them a reason to detain him, and they found he had two open warrants. He was arrested and taken to Harris County Jail, also charged with "Failure to Identify to a Police Officer - Fugitive." Constable Mark Herman confirmed the arrest, and his bond was set at just $100 by County Court 11, as per the Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
