
A routine traffic stop on last Saturday led to the arrest of James Newton in the 3800 block of Louetta Road. According to Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4's Facebook post, deputies with the Precinct 4 Special Operations Unit initially stopped Newton for a traffic violation. During the stop, they observed drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. A narcotics K-9 was brought to the scene and alerted to the presence of drugs. A search of the vehicle revealed 13 grams of methamphetamine and 11 ounces of marijuana.
Newton was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. He is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, and his bond was set at $5,000 by the 208th District Court.
