
Hawai'i Island police are actively seeking public assistance to identify a male theft suspect who was recently photographed near recovered stolen farm equipment in Captain Cook. According to a report by the local Hawaii Police Department, on January 23 Kona patrol officers were called to investigate the theft of farming equipment from a property located on the 89-400 block of Hawai'i Belt Road.
The equipment was discovered two days later in the Hawaiian Ocean View Estates subdivision. An individual male suspect was seen in close vicinity to the pilfered goods but managed to quickly flee the scene before the officers could apprehend him. A resourceful witness was able to capture his photograph, lending the police a visual aid in their ongoing hunt to apprehend the suspect.
The suspect in question is described as a local male, bearing a medium build and complexion, estimated to be in his 40s to 50s, with short, dark hair. He was last seen sporting a black tank top and accessorized with a pair of sunglasses perched on his head. The police are reaching out for any leads that the public might be able to provide.
