State employees, including legislators and Lieutenant Governor Sylvia Luke, gathered at the State Capitol last week to support the 3rd Annual Food Drive Fest. Their efforts resulted in the contribution of over 4,000 meals to the Hawaiʻi Foodbank. The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Honolulu also participated by donating nonperishable food items, as reported by the Office of the Governor.
During the event held on April 16–17, participants collected nonperishable items and monetary donations as part of the 26th Annual State Employees' Food Drive. Donations will continue to be accepted through May 9. According to the Office of the Governor, "State employees continue to lead with aloha — always looking out for our neighbors, coworkers, and ʻohana across Hawaiʻi."
