A tragic event radiated through the streets of Las Vegas late Saturday night as a pedestrian became the victim of a hit-and-run collision. The incident, occurring last Sunday, April 27, 2025, at approximately 10:49 PM, involved a 2008 BMW 328i, which police say was driving eastbound on East Flamingo Road at Mojave Road. Reports from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section suggest that the pedestrian was crossing East Flamingo Road, near the marked crosswalk, when the BMW, operated by Luis Fuentes-Ramirez, 30, of Henderson, NV, collided with them.
The impact of the collision was severe, hurling the 32-year-old male pedestrian into the east onto the roadway. Although Fuentes-Ramirez initially halted after the incident, he then decided to leave the scene, only to return later. Upon his arrival, he was taken into custody, and after a thorough examination, the authorities determined that he was not impaired. Nonetheless, Fuentes-Ramirez now faces hit-and-run-related charges, as he was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
The pedestrian, whose identity has yet to be announced pending notification, found himself in critical condition. Emergency responders rushed him to Sunrise Hospital's Trauma Center, where he remains, fighting for his life. Despite the driver's return to the scene and the ongoing investigation, this case serves as a grim reminder of the immediacy and gravity of pedestrian safety concerns in metropolitan areas.
The investigation is still ongoing. Police are asking anyone with more information about the accident to come forward.
