The Henderson Police Department is conducting an investigation into a recent traffic collision that resulted in the death of a pedestrian earlier this month. According to a press release from the City of Henderson, the incident occurred on the evening of April 8, when a black Honda Accord struck a pedestrian who was crossing Boulder Highway at Foster Avenue. Despite the seriousness of the accident, the driver involved failed to remain at the scene.
Preliminary findings suggest the pedestrian was within the crosswalk during the time of the impact. The victim, whose identity is yet to be disclosed until family can be notified, was rushed to a nearby hospital but later died from injuries on April 11. As stated in the City of Henderson's official release, speed is not believed to be a contributing factor to this collision, though it remains unclear whether the driver was impaired at the time of the crash. This event marks the third traffic-related fatality in Henderson for the year 2025.
The search for the driver of the black Honda Accord continues, as they have not yet been identified. Local authorities urge anyone with information relating to the accident to come forward. The Clark County Coroner's Office will release the name of the deceased once next of kin notifications are complete. As this investigation persists, the Henderson Police Department has withheld additional detail pending further developments in their enquiries.
