Hawaiʻi Island police are in search of a stolen vehicle, reportedly taken last week from Hilo. According to details provided, on the morning of Thursday, April 24, a white 2011 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner went missing from Wainaku Street. Ensconced with Hawaiʻi license plate ZLL-385, this vehicle is now at the center of a search that leverages community observance and assistance.
The truck, easily identifiable by its dash adorned with several small toys, also contained two wooden pallets and a blue cooler resting in the truck bed at the time of theft. The Hilo community, often tight-knit in times of need, is hoped to provide crucial leads. Police have not only issued a call to action, but a plea for eyes and ears on the streets.
In an effort to cast a wider net, information regarding Tacoma's whereabouts can be shared with the Hawaii Police Department’s non-emergency line. To be specific, calling (808) 935-3311 could be the conduit for essential information that brings this truck back to its owner. Officer Mahi-Murray is available for contact by phone at (808) 961-2213 for those who prefer speaking directly. Alternatively, he can be reached by email at [email protected].
