Honolulu will have steady trade winds throughout the week, with the highest chance of showers at night and in the morning, especially in windward and mauka areas. A remnant frontal band moving southward and a developing upper-level trough may increase showers later in the week. Trade winds are expected to weaken slightly as the high-pressure ridge weakens. A shallow band of moisture will bring more showers from tonight into Tuesday. "Given the shallow nature of this boundary, rainfall accumulations should be light," and leeward areas are likely to see less moisture, according to the National Weather Service.

On Wednesday, the high-pressure ridge is expected to strengthen, bringing brisk northeast trade winds across Hawaii. The western regions may see persistent moisture, leading to periodic showers. "Windward areas can expect periodic showers," which are expected to continue due to shallow moisture and an upper trough developing over the state. "The islands could lead to an uptick in windward showers tonight into Tuesday." Breezy eastern trade winds will continue until late tonight, then decline on Tuesday. Showers will primarily affect windward and mauka areas, with brief IFR conditions possible. VFR conditions are expected to be more common, as reported by the National Weather Service.

A strong surface high pressure northwest of Kauai is driving trade winds, which will continue through the night. "Small Craft Advisory (SCA) conditions are expected across all Hawaiian waters through tonight before falling below advisory thresholds on Tuesday." Advisory-level surf is expected on the northern, eastern, and western shores through tonight. The High Surf Advisory will be lifted by early Tuesday as conditions improve. For more information, refer to the High Surf and Small Craft Advisories in effect until 6 AM HST on Tuesday on the National Weather Service Honolulu website.
