Local producers and manufacturers will have the chance to promote their brands at the third annual Hawaiʻi-Made Conference on May 20 at the Hawaiʻi Convention Center. The event, organized by the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism’s Business Development and Support Division, focuses on the theme “I Ka Mākeke – Going to Market.” The conference aims to provide the local food and beverage industry with knowledge and connections to expand their market reach, according to the Business Development and Support Division.

The Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism’s Business Development and Support Division is hosting a conference to support Hawaiʻi’s manufacturing sector. Dennis T. Ling, the division’s administrator, said, “This conference underscores our commitment to strengthening Hawaiʻi’s manufacturing sector and creating an environment where locally made products can succeed here at home as well as in national and international markets.” The event will include networking opportunities, marketplace showcases, and marketing strategies for the U.S. and Japan. Meli James, co-founder of Mana Up, will speak about strategies for growing Hawaiʻi-made brands, as reported by the Business Development and Support Division.

The conference will focus on using commercial kitchens for food product development, featuring success stories from local entrepreneurs and support from public sector leaders, including legislators and nonprofit organizations. It is aimed at manufacturers, importers, wholesalers, retailers, and elected officials to address common challenges. The $50 registration fee makes it accessible to businesses of all sizes. Attendees can register online. Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism provides resources for economic data, business development, energy conservation, and foreign trade, supporting initiatives in affordable housing and job growth in the innovation sector, as stated by the Business Development and Support Division.
