Yesterday, deputies in the 30000 block of the Northwest Freeway stopped a Mercedes Benz for speeding. During the stop, they discovered a license plate flipper, a device typically used to alter or obscure a vehicle's license plate.
The driver, Tri Duc Doan, insisted that he was unaware of the device, claiming it came with the car. However, deputies conducted a thorough investigation and found that the license plate flipper was installed on plates that rightfully belonged to Doan, suggesting an attempt to hide the vehicle's true identity.
In response, Constable Mark Herman's Office took standard measures in line with protocol. A social media post from the Constable's office detailed, "Tri Duc Doan was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Unlawful Use/Possession of a License Plate Flipper." His bond was set at $100.00 by County Court 9.
