
One person died in a two-vehicle crash last Saturday, at 16924 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) around 3:40 p.m. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash, according to the City of Houston.
A 67-year-old woman driving a red Nissan Rogue died after a crash involving a silver Acura TLX. The woman’s identity has not been released as officials wait for confirmation from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. Paramedics took both drivers to a nearby hospital. The woman driving the Nissan was pronounced dead. The driver of the Acura survived with non-life-threatening injuries, as reported by the City of Houston.
Members of the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division, including Sergeant V. Vo and Officer T. Pham, are investigating a crash where "a red Nissan Rogue was merging onto the main lanes of the freeway from the service road when it struck a silver Acura TLX traveling northbound on the freeway," causing both vehicles to lose control and crash into a ditch. No charges have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing, as stated by the City of Houston.
