On the evening of April 11, authorities from Constable Mark Herman's Office were dispatched to a report of a vehicle collision in Houston's residential area. It was a minor incident, occurring on the 8100 block of Chancewood Lane, where a driver had hit a parked car and then left the scene, as described in a statement on the Harris County Constable Precinct 4's Facebook page.
The deputies conducted a search and found both the car and the person responsible nearby. The driver, identified as Martin Pacheco-Garcia, exhibited, multiple signs of being under the influence, from his behavior to the smell of alcohol on his breath. A breathalyzer test confirmed the suspicions, registering a blood alcohol level of 0.138, well over the legal limit, as reported by the Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
As a result of the tests, "Martin Pacheco-Garcia was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for Fail to Stop and Give Information, and Driving While Intoxicated. His bond was set at $200.00 out of County Court 8," as per Harris County Constable Precinct 4 statement. The documentation of the arrest and subsequent charges now serve as a stark reminder of the continually enforced DUI laws in the area.
