Early this morning, a fire erupted in the Alief area, specifically at a club located in a strip center on 6260 Wilcrest Dr. The incident was reported at 7:52 a.m., with smoke seen billowing from the premises of a karaoke club when firefighters arrived, as reported by the City of Houston.
The Houston Fire Department personnel were prompt in their response, quickly delving into an offensive attack after they forced entry into the establishment and crews worked diligently to also force entry and search the adjoining business premises for fire extension, which fortunately, was not found as the blaze was contained within the club itself, according to a report by the City of Houston.
As a result of the firefighter's swift action, it's estimated that around $900,000 worth of property was saved from destruction; however, the fire still inflicted an estimated $200,000 worth of damage on the club. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in relation with the fire, as stated by the City of Houston.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, with Houston Fire Department Arson investigators working to find out how and where it started. The fire broke out early in the day, disrupting business hours. A team of 49 Houston firefighters from multiple stations, including Rescue 10, worked together to quickly bring the fire under control, as per the City of Houston.
