A fatal shooting that left one man dead and another injured in Houston will be going before a Harris County grand jury. The incident took place early Sunday morning, around 3 a.m., at 10501 Beechnut Street. According to a press release from the Houston Police Department, the name of the deceased, a 34-year-old male, is still pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Another male, 27, was taken to an area hospital following the incident, where he remains in stable condition. Responding to a reported assault, Houston Police patrol officers discovered the two gunshot victims lying in the street. The Houston Fire Department paramedics responded quickly to the scene, transporting both males to area hospitals, where one man was pronounced dead, as reported by the Houston Police Department.
Houston Police Homicide Detectives R. Montalvo and D. Higgs say a fight broke out between two people in a silver Chevrolet Impala and two men in a truck. Houston Police Department have identified the people in the Impala and got their statements about the shooting. The gun used in the incident was also turned in by those from the Impala. After talking with the Harris County District Attorney's Office, the case will be sent to a grand jury for further review.
