
A man was fatally shot early this morning in Houston, and the case is being sent to a Harris County grand jury for review. The incident happened around 2:20 a.m. at 2231 Des Jardines Street, where officers found a 39-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics. His identity has not yet been confirmed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
According to the City of Houston release, the 58-year-old shooter remained at the scene and was not injured. According to the Houston Police Department, the two men, who were neighbors, had an altercation before the shooting. HPD Homicide Division personnel reported that one man fired multiple shots, striking the other.
After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, authorities determined the case should be presented to a grand jury for further review. The investigation into the cause of the altercation is ongoing.
