Houston police are currently investigating an incident on a Monday evening in a strip mall parking lot—the scene where bullets ended the lives of two people and left another injured. A statement from the Houston Police Department provided details about what transpired at 14155 Northwest Freeway service road at approximately 9:25 p.m. The altercation is being looked into as a murder/suicide, according to City of Houston.
At the scene, officers found a man and a woman dead from gunshot wounds. They also discovered a man in his mid-twenties who survived and was taken to a hospital for surgery. The woman, whose identity is still being confirmed, was previously romantically involved with the 27-year-old shooter.
HPD Homicide Division detectives A. Hernandez and G. Zavala are investigating the incident, with formal identifications of the victims pending by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. In their initial findings, the male suspect shot the female victim, then turned the weapon on her male companion before pointing the firearm at himself. A witness narrative corroborated this, noting the woman as the suspect's ex-girlfriend.
Information is yet to be released on the identity of the third victim, the survivor who bravely strives to remain intact amidst this tapestry of destruction. The Houston Police Department has not yet commented further on the investigation's progression.
