
Authorities are currently in the investigation of a deadly hit-and-run that happened on the East Freeway in Houston. The Houston Police Department reports that the incident took place around 10:05 p.m. yesterday, at the 5800 block of the East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10), as described in a statement on the City of Houston's official news website.
At this time, few details have been released about the male pedestrian who was fatally struck. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is working to confirm his identity. The HPD's Vehicular Crimes Division, led by Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer N. Solomon, is currently investigating the incident and searching for the driver who did not stop to provide assistance.
Responding paramedics from the Houston Fire Department were called to the scene where they pronounced the man deceased. Details surrounding the vehicle involved have remained unclear with the HPD yet to offer up a description of the make or model of the car or any characteristics of the suspect.
